CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY – SUNDAY 20 DECEMBER 2015
The Rector hosted a Christmas Party for the children of St Ninian’s.  They read the Christmas story together and them helped him to decorate his tree and ended the afternoon with a delicious tea.

TEARS (Troon Emergency Appeals for Refugees) asked for gifts to pass onto refugees now living at Adamton House in Monkton.  They added a message to their Facebook page on 21 December :

CHRISTMAS FAIR – SATURDAY 28 NOVEMBER
The Christmas Fair on Saturday 28 November raised a total of £1,981.30.  Everyone enjoyed the variety of stalls and teas on sale.  More pictures can be found in the Gallery.

MESSY CHURCH – SUNDAY 1 NOVEMBER
Super-heroes was the theme of Messy Church at St Ninian’s in November.  Families all joined in activities such as crafts, stories and songs ending the afternoon with a meal together.

KNIT N’ NATTER – THURSDAY 22 OCTOBER
A Knit n’ Natter Group has been formed that plans to meet on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Choir Vestry from 1.45 – 3.45 pm.  Knitting is not compulsory but projects will be undertaken for Knit-a-Square, a charity that provided garments and blankets to millions of abandoned and vulnerable children and AIDS orphans in South Africa.  The group got off to a great start in October and will continue in the New Year.  For up-to-date information about the meetings please see Church and Community Activities.

HARVEST FESTIVAL & CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH – SUNDAY 4 OCTOBER
The church was beautifully decorated for the Harvest Festival and following the Service there was a Congregational Lunch in the church hall which raised £285 for the South Ayrshire Food-bank.  To see more photos please click on the link to Harvest 2015 Gallery

CONCERT – SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER
Ayrshire Community Gospel Choir gave a concert in the Church on Sunday 20 September to round off a week of celebration of our Patronal Festival.  A total of £406 was raised for TEARS – Troon Emergency Appeal Refugees to help the plight of the refugees across Europe.

Our second brood of five baby swallows are now making preparations to fly south for the winter.  See you next year guys!

RECTORY GARDEN PARTY – SATURDAY 20th JUNE 2015
The Rector opened his new garden in order to raise funds for the Ayrshire Hospice.  The members of Troon Friends of the Hospice provided a wonderful afternoon tea and a total of £666 was raised for the Hospice.

AYRSHIRE REGIONAL COUNCIL – WEDNEDAY 17th JUNE 2015
Members from the nine churches which make up the Ayrshire Regional joined together from their Annual Wine & Nibbles Evening at St Ninian’s.  Following a most interesting talk about Police Scotland they enjoyed a supper together.

BLESSING THE BOATS – SUNDAY 7th JUNE 2015
Congregations from all the Troon Churches once again joined together at the Harbour along with workers from Mission to Seafarers, Troon Lifeboat Crew and crew members from the fishing boats in Troon for the Annual Service of Blessing the Boats.

WHIT WALK  – SUNDAY 24th MAY 2015

Following the Service on Pentecost Sunday a group from the congregation walked from Troon to Irvine along the shore and were joined by others to enjoy lunch together at the Ship Inn in Irvine.

EASTER 2015
 On Good Friday the children made the Easter Garden, constructed from Lego!  It was carefully carried into the church and the children listened to the Easter Story.

And following the reading of the Passion in the church the cross was carried out into the garden.

After the church had been decorated the Easter Vigil took place in the evening on Holy Saturday.  During the this service the Paschal Candle was lit and baptismal vows renewed.

Early on Easter morning an ecumenical service of Holy Communion took place on the beach as the dawn broke.

Following the Easter Day Eucharist the Easter Cross was carried out into the garden to proclaim the message – ‘He is Risen’!

FELLOWSHIP AGM – TUESDAY 17th MARCH 2015
At the Fellowship AGM a cheque for £1,060 was handed to Linda Whitby from Therapets.  This was the result of fund raising activities including a Sponsored Walk, Coffee Morning and Bridge Drive.

MOTHERING SUNDAY – 15th MARCH 2015
On Saturday morning the children had gathered to help the Flower Team prepare posies for all the ladies on Mothering Sunday.  They then helped distribute them during the service and as people left the church.

LENT LUNCH – SUNDAY 8th MARCH
The congregation enjoyed a Soup Lunch and donations in excess of £160 were sent to Christian Aid.
